Interactions
As an outsider, it certainly fills that brief. It’s almost like a reverse Butler, with your vote being forced until the end game.
Jinxes:
Cannibal, just like with Butler, will learn they have the Zealot Ability, to ensure that they know they have to vote and don’t accidentally cheat.
Vizier/Legion has the same one, which is that the Zealot might register as evil to the Vizier/Legion. Makes sense otherwise it is almost an instant win for evil otherwise since evil will be able to execute anyone they like for the entire game.
Finally, Riot. If you are nominated, you MUST nominate again. Since there is no voting in a Riot game, this makes sense.
Funny – Zealot + Bone Collector, forcing them to use their dead vote – however the Zealot will not know they’ve been bone collected.
Playing
Be mindful to remember to vote. Always. You can do it early or late, but just do it! Not much else of note here, an outsider that can be open unlike some other recent releases and not much to think about. Just, vote, often, and liberally.
Story Telling
Nothing of note, expect to, like to Butler, be mindful that you might have to remind a player, in private of course, about voting if they have forgotten. Most people won’t and no-one will do it on purpose but good to keep an eye out to help them.
Final Thoughts
Butler haters will probably be happy, since this does something similar of voting restrictions but it isn’t tied to other players anymore. A nice low stress role, which is always good to balance out some scripts and will suit some players very well.
