Once you have made a script, and you think it’s pretty good, how can you go about confirming this, before play testing? You can use the handy BOTC Script Checker tool. This checks your script and allows you to avoid basic mistakes, or at least warn you of potential issues. Of course, just because the tool returns a warning or suggestion, doesn’t mean that you need to change the script, it is just guidance.
The tool is open source, so if you have any feedback, general or on what to include or any interactions that you think should be checked, please reach out on the GitHub as it is always welcomed.
If you are serious about making a good custom script, I would highly recommend using this tool since it does pick up many of the issues that will also come up in play testing and will ensure that, while tweaks may still need to be made, they are not the obvious ones.
